Digital Painting by Igor

In order to create something similar, I find that the easiest way is to find something laying around the house (a pot, figurine, plushies, etc) that has a fairly simple design. Or you can just draw the digital painting I have shown you. Now just start drawing a rough outline until you get the proportions to your liking, don't worry if the proportions aren't perfect though, since this drawing focuses on the shading rather than the complexities of the object.

After the proportioning, the fun starts. This is where you start squinting to try and scope out the little shadows or curves your object has to reflect onto your drawing platform. As you can see above every detail has its own shading and colour, and its not hard to create this level of detail for yourself. If you look at the tiny sachets on the painting, the artist just defines the shadows they cast. The sachets themselves are very simple to draw, but the shading is what makes it. Go give it a try! draw something simple except focus on the shading rather than the complexity of the object.

This digital painting was done on a iPad on a application named Procreate without using a stylus, just finger painting. The artist who goes by the name of "icheban" on Imgur, focuses on the little details of Boba Fett creating a nice clean painting. If you want to see more from this artist, here's a link to his page Icheban Gallary
